Choroexplorer

Choroexplorer a new ongoing Python initiative that seeks to develop new tools aimed at exploring spatial properties of landscapes as defined from a mobile frame of reference (i.e. an individual). It focuses on the development of data structures that capture landscape information from an ego- (viewer-) centered description of space as a way to facilitate the analysis of landscape scenes as perceived from an individual´s perspective. For instance, it seeks to provide tools that would divide a landscape scene into various planes (e.g. foreground, middleground, background), to extract horizon lines and automatically create a hierarchical classification of features that appear in its silhouette, to identify primary lines of orientations, and more.
